Can an Overseas Accounting Firm Register for TinyTax?

TinyTax can be used by accounting firms based outside the UK to file Corporation Tax returns (CT600) and accounts for UK-incorporated client companies. Your own firm does not need to be registered at Companies House or in the UK to create an account.

Registration — the right path for an overseas firm

The Companies House search that appears during registration is for identifying your own UK company (if you have one). Since your firm is not a UK-incorporated company, use the Sole Trader or Partnership path instead:

  1. Go to https://tinytax.co.uk and click Get Started Free
  2. Under "Your Organisation", select Sole Trader or Partnership as the entity type (these categories cover any non-UK-company organisation)
  3. Enter your firm's name as the Trading Name
  4. When asked "Are you an accountancy firm?", select Yes
  5. Complete your name, email address, and password
Your firm details are used only to set up your account. The Companies House company search that happens when you add clients is completely separate — it is for finding your UK client companies, not your own firm.

Adding UK client companies

Once your account is set up, add each UK client company from your dashboard:

  1. Click Add Company
  2. Search by the client company's Companies House number or name
  3. The company is added to your account, ready to file for
Each client company uses one slot in your subscription tier.

Managing multiple clients — Portfolio plans

A single Portfolio subscription covers all your client companies up to the tier you choose, under one annual payment. You do not need a separate subscription per company.

PlanCompanies coveredPrice (excl. VAT)
Portfolio 3Up to 3£99/year
Portfolio 12Up to 12£189/year
Portfolio 50Up to 50£319/year
Portfolio 150Up to 150£549/year
Portfolio 250Up to 250£649/year
Larger tiers are available — see https://tinytax.co.uk/pricing for the full range.

Important: the tier limit counts every company you have ever filed for under the subscription, not just those currently shown on your dashboard. Once you have submitted a CT600 or accounts for a company, that company permanently counts towards your tier limit, even if you later archive it.

Before you subscribe

You can build and preview a complete filing — including the CT600 and iXBRL accounts — completely free. You only need to subscribe when you are ready to submit to HMRC or Companies House. This lets you verify the software works for your clients before committing.

Common Questions

Do I need a UK address or phone number to register?

No. There is no requirement for a UK address or phone number when creating a TinyTax account.

What if the registration form asks me to search Companies House for my firm?

This screen appears when signing up from within a filing flow (for example, if you started a CT600 before creating an account). Go directly to https://tinytax.co.uk/register instead, and you will see the Sole Trader or Partnership option that does not require a Companies House search for your own firm.

Can I file for any type of UK company?

TinyTax supports UK-incorporated limited companies (Ltd), companies limited by guarantee, and charitable companies. It does not support LLP filings for Corporation Tax (though LLP accounts can be filed). See Company Types TinyTax Can File For for a full list.
