Verifying Your Email Address

After signing up for TinyTax, you'll need to verify your email address before you can use the service. This guide explains how verification works and what to do if you run into problems.

Why Do I Need to Verify?

Email verification confirms that you own the email address you signed up with. Until you verify, you will not be able to access the dashboard, enter figures, or submit filings.

How to Verify

1. Check your inbox — after signing up, you'll receive an email with the subject "Verify your TinyTax account"
2. Click the verification link in the email
3. You'll be logged in automatically and taken to your dashboard

I Did Not Receive the Email

If you cannot find the verification email:

1. Check your spam or junk folder — the email comes from [email protected]
2. Search your inbox for "Verify your TinyTax account"
3. Resend it — go to the verification page and click Resend Verification Email

Browser Issues Preventing Verification

If you have checked spam and tried resending but the verification screen still does not work, the issue may be your browser rather than email delivery.

Brave browser is the most common culprit — its Shields feature blocks the session cookies the verification flow relies on. The same issue can occur in Safari or Firefox when strict tracking protection is enabled.

Quick fix: open a different browser (Chrome, Edge, or Firefox in standard mode) and visit https://tinytax.co.uk/auth/login. If that works, the problem is browser-related.

What Happens If I Do Not Verify?

You will receive reminder emails at 1 day, 3 days, and 7 days after signing up. If you do not verify within 10 days, your account is automatically removed for security reasons. You can always sign up again if this happens.

I Signed Up With the Wrong Email Address

If you created your account with an incorrect email address and cannot verify it, the simplest fix is to sign up again at https://tinytax.co.uk/auth/signup using the correct address. You will receive a fresh verification email straight away.

Your previous (unverified) account will expire automatically within 10 days — you do not need to do anything else with it.

I am Changing My Email Address

If you have already verified and want to change your email address:

1. Log in to TinyTax
2. Click your name in the top right corner
3. Go to Profile
4. Enter your new email address and save

You will receive a new verification email at your new address. Click the link within 48 hours to confirm the change. If the link expires, just update your email again from your profile to get a fresh one.

A notification is also sent to your old email address for security.

Q: Can I use TinyTax without verifying? A: No. You need to verify your email before you can access the dashboard or submit any filings.
