Prior Year Restatement Label and Font Options in Accounts
When filing accounts in TinyTax, you may want to mark your prior year comparative figures as "restated" following a correction, or customise how the accounts look. This guide covers what is and is not currently supported.
Editing Prior Year Comparative Figures
The prior year column on the Balance Sheet is auto-fetched from your most recent Companies House filing. The fetched figures are editable — if you need to correct any of them (for example, to reflect a restatement), click on any figure in the prior year column and type over it.
For the Income Statement / P&L prior year column, figures always need to be entered manually. Scroll to the P&L section, find the Prior Year column, and enter the figures from your previous accounts.
"As Restated" Column Label
Adding a text qualifier such as "(as restated)" to the prior year column heading is not currently supported. The balance sheet column header shows the prior period dates (for example, "Year ended 31 July 2024") and cannot be modified to include additional text.
If the restatement is material and must be disclosed, you can include a note in the Notes to the Accounts section explaining the restatement — most users handle it this way.
Changing Fonts
Custom fonts are not currently supported in TinyTax accounts. The iXBRL accounts are generated to a fixed format that satisfies the Companies House and HMRC taxonomy requirements. Font family, size, and weight are set by the accounts generator and cannot be changed.
