The most common reason for Xero not connecting is a connection limit on Xero's side — they restrict how many accounts can be linked to the TinyTax app at once. It's not a problem with your account or subscription; it's a Xero-side restriction that applies to the connecting app.

The good news is you don't need the live connection to file. Two quick alternatives that get you the same figures:

**Option 1 — Import your trial balance (recommended):**
1. In Xero, go to Accounting → Reports → Trial Balance
2. Set the date to your accounting period end
3. Click Export → CSV
4. In TinyTax, open your filing form and click the **Import** button next to the Profit & Loss or Balance Sheet section, then upload the file

TinyTax maps each account to the correct CT600 box automatically — same result as the live connection, just a quick manual export step.

**Option 2 — Enter figures manually:**
If you'd rather not export anything, you can type your year-end totals (turnover, expenses, balance sheet figures) directly into the form.

You can also try the direct Xero connection again a little later — slots free up automatically as other connections are released.
