Account reference date

Hi, I am closing my company and need to do my final accounts. It wouldn't let me like as there is two months remaining before the filing date. I went on companies house and brought the date forward which has been accepted, however it still shows the original date in the tiny tax dash board. How do I get it to recognise the new date so I can file and do the strike off?

Thanks for getting in touch. I've checked the Companies House register for your company (13991853) and the Accounting Reference Date is still showing as 31 March on their system, with the next accounts period ending 31/03/2026.

TinyTax pulls its filing dates directly from Companies House, so the dates you see on the dashboard reflect what Companies House currently has on record.

I can also see that the strike-off application (DS01) filed on 11 January was suspended on 17 January - this often happens when there are outstanding filing obligations.

Could you check your Companies House account to confirm whether the change of accounting reference date (AR01 form) has been fully processed? Once Companies House updates their register with the new date, TinyTax will automatically pick it up the next time you open your dashboard.
