Which TinyTax plan is right for you? This guide answers the most common questions about pricing, billing, and what's included.
How Much Does TinyTax Cost?
Our pricing is shown on the pricing page. Plans vary depending on how many companies you need to file for, so check there for the latest options and any current offers.
Which Plan Do I Need?
Filing for One Company
If you only have one company, our Solo plan covers everything you need: CT600 to HMRC and micro-entity accounts to Companies House. The Solo plan locks to the first company you file for.
Filing for Multiple Companies
If you have more than one company, you'll need a Portfolio plan. Check the pricing page for the plan that fits your situation.
I'm an Accountant Filing for Clients
The Portfolio plan is designed for accountants and bookkeepers who file on behalf of multiple clients. It covers unlimited companies — there is no per-company or per-filing charge on top of your annual subscription.
- CT600 + accounts for every client, included in your plan
- No hard limit on companies — file for 10, 50, or more clients under one subscription
- Add team members at any time — useful if you have staff who need access
- Fair usage policy — if your portfolio grows beyond 50 companies, we may get in touch to discuss your usage, but this is a conversation rather than a block on your filings
Is There a Free Option?
All filings (including dormant companies) require a subscription. You can start your filing and enter all your figures before paying — you only need to subscribe when you are ready to submit.
Visit the pricing page to see current plan options and prices.
When Do I Get Billed?
You're billed when you subscribe to a plan. TinyTax uses annual billing — you pay once per year and can file as many times as your plan allows during that period.
You won't be charged anything until you choose to subscribe. You can:
- Add your company
- Enter your figures
- Review everything
- Subscribe only when you're happy and ready to submit
What's Included?
All paid plans include:
- CT600 filing to HMRC — fully digital submission
- Micro-entity accounts to Companies House — iXBRL format, filed electronically
- Tax computation — generated automatically from your figures
- Automatic period splitting — if your accounting period is longer than 12 months
- Prior year data — automatically fetched from your previous filings
- Unlimited resubmissions — if HMRC or Companies House reject your filing, resubmit at no extra cost
Can I Upgrade or Downgrade?
Yes. If you need to add more companies, you can upgrade your plan at any time. Visit the pricing page or contact us if you need help choosing.
Do You Offer Refunds?
All subscription fees are non-refundable. However, refunds may be issued at our discretion in exceptional circumstances — contact us at hello@tinytax.co.uk if you'd like to request a review.

Common Questions
Q: I have 3 companies — do I need 3 separate plans? A: No. Our Portfolio plan covers multiple companies under one subscription. Check the pricing page for the right option.
Q: I'm an accountant — can I file for all my clients on one Portfolio plan? A: Yes. The Portfolio plan covers unlimited companies with no per-company charges. There is a fair usage policy: if you exceed 50 companies, we may get in touch to discuss your usage, but your filings won't be blocked.
Q: Is there a hard limit on how many companies I can file for? A: No hard limit. The fair usage policy applies above 50 companies — that means a conversation, not a block.
Q: How do I enter HMRC credentials when filing for clients? A: When you submit a CT600, a popup asks for your Government Gateway credentials. You can choose how to file:
- Tax agent — use your own agent Government Gateway ID and password. Your clients do not need their own Gateway logins.
- Company director — use the client's own Government Gateway credentials.
Q: Can I try before I buy? A: Yes! Add your company, enter your figures, and review your tax calculation — all before subscribing. You only pay when you're ready to submit.
Q: What's the difference between Solo and Portfolio? A: Solo covers one company and locks to the first company you file for. Portfolio covers multiple companies. Visit the pricing page to compare.
Q: Do you charge per filing or per year? A: Per year. Subscribe once and file as many returns as your plan allows during the subscription period.
Q: Can I claim my TinyTax subscription as a business expense? A: Yes. Tax software is an allowable business expense. You can include it in your administrative expenses.
