Can Overseas or Foreign Companies File CT600?
TinyTax supports UK-incorporated companies only. If your company is registered in an overseas jurisdiction — such as the Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey, Ireland, or any other country — it falls outside what TinyTax can currently handle.
This guide explains why, and what your options are.
Why TinyTax Does Not Support Overseas Companies
TinyTax is designed for companies registered at Companies House (UK). The filing process relies on:
- Your company number from Companies House (used to look up your company details and filing history)
- UK-standard statutory accounts formats (micro-entity FRS 105, small company FRS 102 Section 1A)
- Companies House submission APIs for accounts filing
What About UK Property Income?
Since April 2020, non-UK resident companies that earn UK property income are subject to UK Corporation Tax and must file a CT600 with HMRC. This includes Isle of Man companies, Jersey companies, and other overseas entities with UK rental income.
However, the CT600 filing process for non-resident companies has specific requirements — including different registration steps with HMRC — that TinyTax does not currently support.
What to Use Instead
For an overseas company with a UK CT600 obligation, your options are:
- HMRC Corporation Tax Online — HMRC's own filing service supports non-resident company returns
- An accountant using specialist software — accountants who work with non-resident companies will have access to software that handles the specific requirements
What If You Also Have a UK Company?
If you set up a UK-incorporated company (for example, a UK limited company that holds UK property), TinyTax can handle that company's CT600 and accounts filings in full.
Common Questions
Can I use manual entry for an overseas company?
No. TinyTax's manual entry option is for UK organisations that are not registered at Companies House (such as charities, clubs, and trusts). It is not suitable for overseas companies.
Does TinyTax support Isle of Man, Jersey, or Guernsey companies specifically?
No. All Crown Dependencies and overseas territories are outside the scope of TinyTax. Only companies incorporated in England, Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland are supported.
