LLP Annual Accounts Submission

Hi Tim, is it possible to create/submit LLP annual accounts to Companies House? I've run through the current process but we are not liable for corporation tax. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ewan

Yes, you can submit LLP annual accounts to Companies House through TinyTax!

You're correct that LLPs don't file corporation tax (CT600) - the partners are taxed individually on their share of profits. TinyTax automatically detects this and will only offer accounts filing for your LLP.

When you search for your company (SO305337), you should see the option to file "Accounts Only" to Companies House. The system will generate the correct iXBRL accounts with LLP-specific wording (referring to "Members" rather than "Directors", etc.).

Let me know if you have any issues finding the accounts-only option or if you need any help with the submission

Hi Tim,

I came across TinyTax as a possible option for filing LLP micro-entity accounts with Companies House (software filing will be the only option from next year).
I see what you say below, but it isn't at all clear to me that TinyTax does support LLPs.

For example:
- I am forced to enter "type of company" when the LLP isn't a company at all.
- There are line items for "corporation tax", "share capital" etc. which aren't applicable to LLPs.
- Paper filing currently requires specific statements for micro entity LLPs on the balance sheet, and it's unclear how these statements carry across to software filing or whether TinyTax would be compliant.

It might just be a case of providing an LLP option and changing some terminology, but I'm not an accounting expert so I'd really like to find a solution that handles this simply and clearly - without that I don't really have the expertise to work out whether I can use TinyTax for LLP account filing or how to do so.

I appreciate that LLPs might be an edge case for most accounting systems, but it would be great to find a simple solution for the LLP filing problem that Companies House is creating.

Nick.

Thanks for your detailed feedback - you've raised valid points that we're addressing.

You're right that:

- The "type of company" wording is misleading for LLPs

- The balance sheet currently shows "Share Capital" instead of "Members' Capital"

- Some form sections aren't relevant to LLP accounts-only filings

The good news: TinyTax does generate compliant iXBRL for LLP accounts submissions (we've had successful filings, including one earlier today). The backend correctly identifies LLPs, blocks CT600 filing, and generates the right legal form in the iXBRL.

We're updating the user interface to make this clearer for LLPs - changing terminology and hiding irrelevant sections. I'll let you know when these improvements are live.

In the meantime, if you'd like to try filing your LLP accounts, the system will handle it correctly despite the confusing UI.
