I have tried various ways of updating but, can't get figure to show.

Thanks for flagging this Mark. It wasn't an issue for submission as P&L is hidden in the accounts submitted to Companies House and the CT600 filing only deals with current year data.

However, you can now edit the previous year corp tax on the P&L in the main form.
