How Long Does Companies House Take to Process Filings?
How Long Does Companies House Take to Process Filings?
TinyTax submits your accounts, confirmation statement, and other filings to Companies House electronically — but Companies House processes filings on working days only.
Typical Processing Times (Working Days)
| Filing Type | Normal Processing Time |
|---|---|
| Accounts (micro-entity, small company) | A few minutes to a few hours |
| Confirmation statement (CS01) | Usually within a few hours |
| LLP accounts | A few minutes to a few hours |
Bank Holidays and Weekends
Companies House does not process filings on weekends or UK bank holidays. If you submit on or just before a bank holiday, your filing will remain in `pending` status until the next working day.
Common periods when delays occur:
- Easter (Good Friday and Easter Monday are both bank holidays)
- Christmas and New Year (typically 3–4 non-working days)
- May bank holidays
What Does "Pending" Mean?
If your filing shows as pending in TinyTax, it means the filing has been successfully sent to Companies House and is waiting in their queue to be processed. This is normal and does not indicate an error.
What If It Is Still Pending After 2 Working Days?
If your filing has been pending for more than 2 full working days (excluding weekends and bank holidays), contact hello@tinytax.co.uk and we will investigate.
Common Questions
My filing shows "pending" — did it go through?
Yes. Pending means Companies House received it. You will see the status update to "Accepted" (or occasionally "Rejected" if there is an issue with the filing) once they process it.
Can I speed up processing?
No — processing times are controlled by Companies House, not TinyTax. There is no way to expedite a filing once it has been submitted.
My filing was submitted before a bank holiday — when will it be processed?
Check the UK Government bank holidays calendar to find the next working day. Your filing will be processed on the first working day after the holiday.
